The Program Management Office (PMO) that supports GovRAMP’s security program has a new name.
“Over the past several years, Knowledge Services has supported GovRAMP as its founding PMO—providing oversight, assessments, and continuous monitoring for service providers and government agencies.
As their cybersecurity and compliance services expanded beyond the PMO, it became clear that this area of Knowledge Services needed its own identity to reflect its specialized mission and growing impact. That is why Knowledge Services has launched RAMPQuest, a dedicated brand focused on helping organizations across public and private sectors strengthen their cybersecurity posture, streamline compliance, and build trust.
RAMPQuest continues to be operated by the same experienced team under Knowledge Services, and will maintain the same commitment to quality, consistency, and partnership that their clients expect. Think of it as an evolution, not a change; the PMO team now operates as RAMPQuest, bringing sharper focus and greater visibility to the important work we do together.”
— Fred Brittain, VP of Information Security, RAMPQuest and Executive Advisor to GovRAMP PMO
Providers and assessors can expect business as usual:
- You’ll continue working with the same PMO contacts.
- You will now see emails from the @rampquest.com domain, but messages sent to previous addresses will still reach the team.
- All program standards, workflows, and requirements remain the same.
How GovRAMP and RAMPQuest Work Together
GovRAMP is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) membership organization that promotes cybersecurity and risk management best practices for the public sector.
From the beginning, GovRAMP’s founding Steering Committee recommended establishing a Program Management Office to operationalize the program’s security standards. Based on that guidance, the GovRAMP Board of Directors contracted with Knowledge Services, now RAMPQuest, to serve as the PMO responsible for implementing and maintaining the GovRAMP security program.
You can think of it this way: GovRAMP sets the standards—RAMPQuest carries them out. GovRAMP defines the framework and policies; RAMPQuest manages the implementation and validation that make them work in practice.
This partnership structure, established by the Steering Committee and governed by the Board of Directors, remains unchanged.
