Why did your organization become a GovRAMP member? 

We joined GovRAMP to further demonstrate our commitment to cybersecurity and compliance. GovRAMP provides a robust framework that ensures we meet industry-leading security standards and maintain system resilience. Aligning with GovRAMP strengthens trust with our customers and stakeholders by showing that safeguarding sensitive data and continuously improving our security posture are top priorities.

What advice do you have for other providers progressing through the GovRAMP process? 

Don’t hesitate to ask questions! Leverage your PMO and the wider GovRAMP community, which offers a wealth of knowledge to help smooth the process. Security must be embedded throughout the entire organization—accreditations aren’t just checkboxes. The entire team needs to embrace these frameworks. By fostering cross-department collaboration, security becomes central to every process. Explaining the “why” behind security measures ensures everyone understands it’s not just about compliance —it’s about protecting your reputation and maintaining customer trust. 

Please share any specific lessons learned from your GovRAMP journey. 

A key lesson we’ve learned is the value of cross-departmental collaboration. Cybersecurity can’t be siloed within IT —it must be integrated across all departments. Flexibility is also crucial, as security requirements evolve. We’ve learned to stay audit-ready year-round by consistently maintaining documentation and evidence of our security measures, ensuring we’re always prepared for compliance checks. 

Is there anything else you would like to share with the GovRAMP community or broader cybersecurity community? 

While accreditations like GovRAMP are essential, fostering a strong security culture is just as critical. Security is a continuous process that requires constant learning, adaptation, and collaboration across all levels of an organization. It’s not just about meeting standards but embedding security into everyday operations, raising awareness, and staying agile to face new challenges.
