Nominations Are Open
Thank you for your interest in nominating yourself or someone else to serve GovRAMP. Nominations are open from June 1 through August 1, 2026. A description of the Board and Committee roles can be found below. All positions are two-year terms beginning February 1, 2027.
The Nominating Committee will review all submissions and recommend a slate to the Board. Everyone who submits a nomination form will be notified of their status following committee review, no later than November 30.
Nominations not selected will remain on file and may be reconsidered in the event of a future vacancy.

Explore Our Board and Committee Roles
Each committee plays a distinct role in advancing GovRAMP’s governance framework. Members serve two-year terms, contributing expertise in cybersecurity, procurement, governance, and risk management.

Board of Directors
Strategic oversight with majority public-sector representation.
What They Do: Direct GovRAMP’s business and affairs, adopt policies, manage the budget, and provide strategic direction.
Expectations: Actively participate in meetings, serve as a Board Liaison, advocate for GovRAMP, represent the mission publicly.
Commitment: Virtual quarterly meetings + Steering Committee participation.
Qualifications: GovRAMP member in good standing, prior committee experience, understanding of cloud security concepts.

Appeals Committee
Ensures fair, consistent application of GovRAMP standards.
What They Do: Review appeals, advise on policy updates, recommend process improvements.
Expectations: Participate actively, maintain impartiality, respond promptly to petitions.
Commitment: Minimum 1 annual meeting + ad hoc sessions; up to monthly petition reviews.
Qualifications: GovRAMP member, 3+ years in information security compliance/audit/risk, 3+ years in leadership.

Approvals Committee
Reviews and authorizes products for GovRAMP sponsorship.
What They Do: Evaluate security packages and PMO recommendations.
Expectations: Conduct timely monthly reviews, actively participate in discussions, maintain impartiality.
Commitment: Monthly review of up to 5 packages; virtual meetings as needed.
Qualifications: State/local government role, technical SME, preferred certifications, audit/review experience.

Nominating Committee
Identifies and recommends governance leaders.
What They Do: Recommend candidates for board and committees, advise on governance best practices.
Expectations: Participate actively, maintain impartiality, align candidates with mission needs.
Commitment: 3–4 annual virtual meetings + ad hoc sessions.
Qualifications: Government or nonprofit role, prior board/committee service preferred.

Procurement Committee
Strengthens cybersecurity in SLED procurement.
What They Do: Advise on procurement practices, develop tools and resources, work with (NASPO) advisors to align with national best practices.
Expectations: Actively participate, provide unbiased input, review draft materials.
Commitment: 3–4 annual virtual meetings + ad hoc sessions.
Qualifications: SLED procurement/legal/contracting/cybersecurity experience; prior committee service preferred.

Standards & Technical Committee
Guides GovRAMP’s security standards and technical direction.
What They Do: Review and recommend updates to policy documents, advise on outreach, provide technical guidance.
Expectations: Actively participate, review technical documentation, offer strategic input.
Commitment: 5 annual virtual meetings + ad hoc sessions; timely review of materials.
Qualifications: 10+ years in technical/professional management, deep understanding of GovRAMP//FedRAMP standards.
